GTA 6 watches: the real Rolex and AP behind the game

Rolex Day-Date 40, ref. 228238: the watch behind GTA's ‘Crowex’.

Grand Theft Auto VI is due on 19 November 2026, and fans have been studying the trailers frame by frame, watches included. The game uses made-up brands, but the real watches behind them are easy to spot.

The fictional brands

  • Crowex is Rockstar's take on Rolex, and has appeared in the series since GTA: San Andreas. The gold Crowex on a promotional cover is clearly a Day-Date 40, ref. 228238.
  • Covgari looks like an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, with an octagonal bezel, screws and an integrated bracelet.
  • Kronos stands in for Casio, specifically the Pro Trek PRW-1300 outdoor watch.

None of the real brands is licensed in the game; these are affectionate parodies.

Who wears what

  • Jason Duval wears a chunky digital ‘Kronos’, the Pro Trek look-alike.
  • Lucia Caminos doesn't appear to wear a watch.
  • Brian Heder wears a two-tone diver with a black dial, which looks like a steel and gold Submariner.
  • Raul Bautista is seen with a light-dialled watch with Arabic numerals, and in one shot something very like a Royal Oak chronograph.
  • Others wear a GMT-style bezel and a two-register chronograph not yet matched to a real model.

The real watches

The Day-Date, launched in 1956, is made only in gold or platinum and is famous as the ‘President’. The two-tone Submariner, nicknamed the ‘Bluesy’ in blue, pairs Oystersteel with yellow gold. The Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta in 1972, is the original luxury steel sports watch. Read about Rolex nicknames, or the story of the Royal Oak.
