Vacheron Constantin Overseas at 30: the azure perpetual calendar
The Cotswold Jeweller · 14 October 2026

The Overseas is Vacheron Constantin's sports watch, and in 2026 it turned 30. To celebrate, the maison released an ultra-thin perpetual calendar in white gold with an azure dial, limited to 200 pieces.
The watch
Launched on 24 September 2026, the 4300V/220G-H119 is 41.5mm across and just 8.1mm thick. It has a sunburst azure lacquer dial and, Vacheron says, is the first Overseas to pair that colour with a white gold case. The moon phase at 6 o'clock has a white gold moon set against a matching blue sky.
- Calendar: date, day, month and a 48-month leap year counter. No adjustment until 2100.
- Movement: the self-winding calibre 1120 QP/1, only 4.05mm thick, with a solid 22ct gold rotor engraved with a compass rose. It carries the Hallmark of Geneva.
- Antimagnetic: a soft-iron inner case protects the movement.
- Three ways to wear it: a white gold bracelet plus white and denim blue rubber straps, each changed in seconds without tools.
- Limited: 200 numbered pieces, engraved on the caseback.

A famous family tree
The calibre 1120 descends from the Jaeger-LeCoultre 920, the ultra-thin movement that also powered the original Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus. Keeping the correctors in the side of the case keeps the watch remarkably thin.
Thirty years of the Overseas
- 1977: the 222, Vacheron's first steel sports watch with an integrated bracelet, often seen as the Overseas' ancestor.
- 1996: the first Overseas, ref. 42040: 37mm, water resistant to 150 metres.
- 2004: the second generation brings the Maltese cross bracelet links and larger cases.
- 2016: the current generation, with quick-change straps, and the first Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin.
Price and early resale
Vacheron lists it at $132,000 in the US and CHF 120,000 in Switzerland. Within two weeks of launch, an unworn example was being offered on Chrono24 for around $214,000, though an asking price isn't a sale.
